The two photographs below, taken back in 1974
show one of our earlier Toolalla Kennels feeding a 'poddy' lamb. Due to
overwhelming requests from the Coolie community Toolalla Kennels are
proud to publish the famous 'coolie and lamb' photos on our site.
This bitch was known to, after a hard days work,
come home and feed the lamb before feeding her own litter of pups. This
shows how naturally maternal a coolie bitch can be, even to the extreme
of adopting an orphan outside its own species.
You often hear quite a few stories of coolie bitches
fostering pups from another bitches litter but I doubt there’s too many
coolies known for raising the orphaned stock of which they were bred to
herd.
