December 2004 - Toolalla Holly Goes To School
|
| A few weeks ago Holly took part in the school pet
parade and was an instant hit. Holly, like most coolie's, has an
extremely affectionate nature and a real soft spot for kids. It’s easy
to see why the coolie’s kind and friendly temperament is beginning to be
recognized and appreciated and we’re now starting to see a whole lot
more of the coolie in positions such as ‘Pets as Therapy’. |
|
| I was surprised by the number of people who
approached me with questions or comments about the coolie. It seemed a
lot of people recognized the breed but didn’t know the name of it, while
others had never seen a coolie before and loved the markings. There were
people who had discovered the coolie many years ago and were only too
familiar with the benefits of owning one. |
 |
| One elderly woman acknowledged the breed instantly
and explained how she’d once owned a wonderful working coolie but used
kelpies for most of her life based on the lack of coolie availability. |
